Domain model and data flow

A GGB dataset consists of sequences, tracks, and features. A set of sequences defines the coordinate system on which data will be plotted. Features are collected in tracks and have location on the genome. Any type of data that can be related to a position on the genome can be plotted in the genome browser. Datasets are stored in SQLite database files with a particular schema.

Datasets, sequences, and tracks have key/value pairs mapped to them. For tracks, attributes are used to configure renderers which visually encode track data using shapes and colors.
